Firstsource Solutions, a global provider of customized Business Process Management (BPM) services, is creating up to 450 jobs in the United Kingdom and the United States.
It includes 200 new jobs in the North East of England and 250 in a new center in Eugene, Ore., where client representatives, management and quality assurance staff will support the telecommunications industry by providing web-chat services.
The 200 UK roles will be split evenly between Firstsource’s Fountain Court site in Middlesbrough and a second location in Sunderland, where the jobs are the result of the firm winning new work with a global telecommunications provider and a high-profile UK bank.
These roles include sales advisers for the telecoms company and customer service advisers for the banking client, providing online customer support with tools such as web chat and dealing with inbound and outbound calls.
Firstsource Solutions UK HR officer Jennifer Conroy said: “Firstsource is delighted to be able to continue to bring new employment to the area at the same time as boosting the level of service we are able to provide to some of Britain’s best known companies. … For the roles we are recruiting, while it is desirable to have contact sales center experience, it is not essential, so they can appeal to people with a broad range of ages and skillsets. There is also attractive on-target earnings, a good bonus structure and benefits package available.”
